About Robert Roy

Robert Roy BIOGRAPHY:
Robert E Roy is a long time Victoria BC resident who loves the westcoast vibe. He works primarily in acrylics and at times will work with additional fibers and materials to enhance the piece he is creating. His work has hung in designer galleries, coffee houses and personal shows. He has had paintings in past juried art shows such as the Sooke Fine Art and Sidney Fine Art shows.
Robert is 7th generation Canadian. He comes from French Acaidian/Miq'Mak ancestry.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
As a self taught painter, I use thought provoking images to guide my audience into an untold story. How the story ends is up to you. I am merely providing a theme which engages my own sense of purity, innocence and strength. These qualities are paramount in my paintings. I paint mainly in acrylics with subjects ranging from children to places I have seen. It is not just the image I want to capture but the light and energy that powers the composition.
